Preparing Chef Salad With Left Over Veggies And Meats

Chef Salad
Chef salad is a complete recipe that contains vegetable, meat and even fruits, though traditional recipe uses lettuce, eggs and its dressing. If you’re about to thaw your fridge and you still have some veggies and meat, you can make this delicious and healthy salad that you can eat for breakfast, lunch or dinner.
Wash your ingredients and start boiling the eggs. If you have salad spinner, it’s best to use this in cleaning and removing excess liquid on your veggies to keep them fresh and crisp. But if you don’t have this equipment, wash the veggies carefully and place them on top of paper towel to dry. Change the paper towel if it gets torn because of too much liquid. Aside from lettuce and eggs, other ingredients that are usually used are tomatoes, spinach, potatoes, ham, turkey, chicken and bacon. But you can put whatever ingredients you want to add on your main ingredients that are lettuce and eggs. Add whatever’s available on your fridge.
Preparing chef salad is also a great way to use meat leftovers or excess veggies from your previous recipe. While boiling the eggs, cut the ingredients that you need cut like tomatoes, other vegetables and meat. Once eggs are done, remove the shells and cut these into circles. Get a serving plate where you will put your chef salad. Put the lettuce on the serving plate and add the other veggies. Add the meats then add the hard boiled eggs you cut. Put the ingredients in a way that your salad will look presentable. Remember presentation matters. When food looks good, the mind thinks that it tastes good. This will make your salad more appetizing, aside from the fact that it really tastes great. You can use salad dressing that you can buy in the grocery or make your own dressing by mixing mayo, lemon juice, garlic, salt and pepper using a food processor or blender.
To make your chef salad even tastier, add grated cheese on top. Aside from mayo dressing, you can also mix olive oil and vinegar for a healthier dressing.
